Put a country on the map.
Most of the world is not on the map yet, and the reason is money rather than effort. Every track has to be found, turned into a street address, matched against the school, park or stadium it sits on, and read off aerial imagery when nothing nearby fits. Those are paid API calls, billed per request.
If you want to see another country on the site, you can help cover that cost. We take no cut. A country's goal is the API bill to the cent, and every country below shows exactly what it needs and how much has been raised so far. Once a country is funded it is built and put on the map, usually within 48 hours, and each funded country below shows its own date. After that it is free for everyone, permanently.

We take no cut
A country's goal is the API bill, to the cent, and nothing on top of it. Four services do the work and each is charged by the request, so the goal is arithmetic you can check rather than a number we assert. Hosting and upkeep are funded separately, not taken from here.

There is no way to know how many tracks a country has until the full pipeline has run over it. The estimate is the best answer available beforehand: it comes from OpenStreetMap, is filtered by the same geometry test the real run uses, and is calibrated against every country already published. If the published count comes in below the estimate, [email protected] and the price will be recalculated at the real count and the difference refunded to you. The $5 minimum still applies to the recalculated price. Conversely, if the count comes in above the estimate you are never asked for more.
You receive nothing private. Sponsoring buys no account, no early access, no downloads and no ownership. Once a country is mapped it is free for everyone, including people who paid nothing. What you get is the country on the map, and your name on it above if you want one.
We take no cut. A country's goal is the API bill plus the card processing fee, and nothing else. There is no service fee, margin or salary in the number, and the site is built so there cannot be one: the rate is fixed at zero in the code that computes every goal. If the real bill lands under the goal the difference goes to the next country rather than to us, and if it lands over, we cover it. The optional tip at checkout is the one exception, and it funds hosting and upkeep only. It never counts toward any country's goal.
Before a country is built, ask and you get your money back. Email [email protected], say which country and roughly when you paid, and it is refunded in full, no reason needed. Once a country has been mapped and published the money is spent: it went to Google and Anthropic as metered API calls the moment the work ran, and it cannot be recovered. If a country never reaches its goal, or the site shuts down before the work is done, you are refunded in full. Nothing here removes any refund or cancellation right you have by law where you live, and if the two conflict, the law wins.
